Cannock Wolves is a thriving supporters club dedicated to serving Wolverhampton Wanderers and its supporters in the Cannock Chase area.

It is a bona fide members' club and, as such, it is run by its members for its members.

The main activity of the organisation is to provide travel to Wolves away matches. As a non-profit making body, the fares that we charge are very competitive. Do compare them with the alternatives. To make transport yet easier for our members, we have established coach embarkation points throughout our area.

In addition to this website, Cannock Wolves also has a presence on the foremost social networking site, Facebook. For FB members, we're easy to find. We welcome all Wolves friends.

Facelift

This website has had a superficial makeover. By and large, the content on the site is unchanged: the changes are mainly cosmetic for now.
The main changes are as follows:

  1. A new banner at the top of page. This banner is similar to that deployed on the site for a short time before the facelift. Previously the site had a simple text banner. It is not a techical fault that only half of both logos are shown. This is a deliberate design feature, which may not be very good but 'in the eye of the beholder' and all that.
  2. Below the banner is a collage of Cannock Wolves related images and general Wolves images. There's a fresh collage each time you open a page. See what happens when you keep refreshing the screen (F5).
  3. The telephone number for Cannock Wolves is now contained in a separate box.
  4. Navigation around the site is done using the row of buttons below the collage.
  5. External sites are available through the links down the left hand side of the screen. There are three categories of link: Wolves, Football and Supporters. Initially, the Wolves Category is shown. Toggle around the categories using the buttons in the list.
  6. We've eased back a little from its vivid gold background (good for a football shirt but a little garish for a website), sporting instead a delicate pastel yellow number.

We're looking for new pictures that can be included in the website collage. Any photographs that would be suitable can be sent in via our Facebook profile or by email to webmaster@CannockWolves.co.uk. Photographs can be of players, supporters, matches and so on. Images taken on a mobile phone will usually be of sufficient quality for this purpose.

History

Cannock Wolves was founded in the summer of 1977 following Wolves' success in winning the old second division championship. That makes us the fourth oldest of Wolves supporters clubs behind London (1966), Daventry (1975) and Telford (1976). In all its years, well over 1,000 fans have been members of Cannock Wolves. In the Cannock Chase area, Wolverhampton Wanderers are, by far, the best supported football club and that is reflected in the durability of this supporters' club.
